What about you?

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. -- Jesus, Matthew 11:28–30

Religion or the Gospel of Jesus the King?

Most of us try to live “good” lives and may even belong to a church or other religious organization. Hope therefore is often measured by our performance as we strive to gain God’s acceptance through good deeds, moral effort or religious observances.

Is it enough?

But the Bible teaches “…all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23, ESV).”

We have no means of ridding ourselves of the stain of sin or its penalty by “performing” enough good works to satisfy every requirement for acceptance before a holy God.

But there is hope!

The Bible also says, “But now God has shown us a way to be made right with Him without keeping the requirements of the law… We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are (Romans 3:21–22, NLT).”

Repent and believe the gospel!

We encourage you to place your faith and hope in Jesus Christ, who said, “Repent and believe the gospel (Mark 1:15, ESV).”

Repentance literally means to “turn and go the opposite direction”. Jesus is saying, turn away from a life of sin and self-centeredness, which includes any attempt to make ourselves acceptable to God through good deeds, moral effort or religious observances.

The opposite direction we turn is toward God, therefore Jesus says, “repent AND believe the gospel”. The gospel is the good news that God sent His Son Jesus into the world to live a perfect, obedient life and then die the death we deserved upon the cross as a substitute, for us and as us.

Listen to Jesus' personal invitation:
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28–30, ESV)

Prayer to place your faith in Jesus Christ...

Lord Jesus, I confess that I am weaker and more sinful that I ever dared to admit. I also understand that you love and accept me more than I ever dared to hope. Thank you for dying in my place on the Cross, bearing the punishment for my misdeeds, paying the debt for all my sins and offering me complete forgiveness. I turn away from my past life of self-centeredness and now confess you are my Lord, my God and my Savior. I believe you have been raised from the dead and humbly ask you fill me with your blessed Holy Spirit so I may begin my new life with you. Amen.
